The famed Diggers & Dealers conference is coming up in a couple of weeks. Companies, especially the small caps, are known for making announcements in the lead up to, and during the conference.
Here are some small caps to look out for:
* Hot Chili (HCH) used to be in uranium but now has a well-regarded copper project in Chile (if a bad pun in the name), called Productora.
* Doray Minerals (DRM)'s Andy Well Gold (not “Goal”, ComSec) project in Western Australia is well regarded because of its high grades.
* Another West Australian-based explorer, Gold Road Resources (GOR) has been struggling along, but one day it could sink a hole and come up with Fort Knox. Whether it's today, tomorrow, in 20 years' time, or never, is anybody's guess.
* Ampella Mining (AMX) is a West African gold explorer with amazing promise, which was recognised when its shares were at $3.33 in early 2011. The miner has overcome some problems, but its share price hasn't, trading at about 47 cents (even after spiking 17.5 per cent yesterday).
There are more, but you'll have to stay Under the Radar to find out.
