Alex Shevelev has been managing money according to the Sky Investment Strategy since May 2012. Alex founded Sky Funds Management in February 2013 to allow high net worth investors to participate in the strategy.
Before founding Sky Funds Management Alex was an Equity Analyst at Eight Investment Partners (8IP), a manager of Asia Pacific equities (majority owned by Sanlam Ltd) where he focused on investment idea generation through detailed financial analysis and company contact. Alex has been responsible for stocks in a wide range of sectors during his time at 8IP: Resources, Industrials, Consumer, Financials and Technology.
Prior to joining 8IP, Alex was an investment analyst at Atom Funds Management, a boutique Australian small cap equities manager (also majority owned by Sanlam Ltd). Whilst there Alex focussed on non-Resources Australian small cap research.
Alex started his career at Cadence Asset Management, a boutique, long/short equities manager. Amongst other responsibilities, his focus was on generating investment ideas using fundamental and technical analysis as well as detailed financial modelling.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Econometrics) from the University of Sydney. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charterholder.
