Redflow has a promising technology. Its zinc-bromide flow batteries are not as compact as lithium batteries but they have advantages that make them more suitable for various domestic and commercial applications.
Its batteries are designed for high cycle-rate, long time-base stationary energy storage applications in the residential, commercial & industrial and telecommunications sectors, and are scalable from a single battery installation through to grid-scale deployments. Manufacturing scale and automation cost reductions will be facilitated by the recently released Gen3 battery platform.
